Getafe defender Alexis has been hit with a four-match suspension after he was sent off in his team's contest with Valladolid over the weekend.

Alexis was issued a red card in the 76th minute after delivering an elbow to Valladolid's Patrick Ebert, which would normally carry a one-match ban.

But he was handed an additional two games for his protestations toward match officials, and another match for spitting into the crowd as he left the field.

The 27-year-old has started 25 games in La Liga for Getafe, which sits in eighth place and continues to chase a place in Europe for next season.
