Knicks coach Mike Woodson says forward Carmelo Anthony will sit out Monday night's game against the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Knicks have already wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and Woodson wants to give Anthony a chance to rest his shoulder. Anthony is averaging 28.7 points per game this season.

The Knicks will be extremely thin for what amounts to a meaningless game against the NBA-worst Bobcats.

Along with Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Kenyon Martin, J.R. Smith and Amar'e Stoudemire are also out.

Woodson says Rasheed Wallace, who is recovering from a fractured bone in his foot, is expected to play.
