New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic were named the NBA Players of the Week in the Eastern and Western Conference, respectively, for the games played through April 7.

Anthony produced a league-best 41.8 points per game during the week and his efforts have New York riding a 12-game winning streak. He became just the second Knick since Bernard King to score 40-or-more points in three consecutive games.

Pekovic led Minnesota to a 3-1 mark, tallying 25.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest. Pekovic was the team's leading scorer in all four contests.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Brooklyn's Deron Williams, Chicago's Carlos Boozer, Denver's Corey Brewer, Indiana's Roy Hibbert, Memphis' Mike Conley, and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
