Byron Scott was handed a mess three years ago by the Cavaliers. He hasn't been able to clean it up.

With his third season as Cleveland's coach draining to its final days, Scott's future with the club is under question. The Cavs lost their 10th straight game on Wednesday night, an embarrassing 113-95 loss to the New Jersey Nets, who were missing two starters but still opened a 30-point lead against a Cleveland team that seemed disinterested and detached.

Following the game, a disappointed Scott said he wasn't worried about losing his job.

It's not entirely Scott's fault. The Cavaliers have one of the NBA's youngest teams and have been ravaged by injuries. But the team's lack of effort can't be excused, and Scott may eventually pay for it.
