Now in his 35th season, John Beilein is still a stickler for details.

Whether he's stressing basketball's fundamentals to his Michigan players, or telling a story with near-photographic recall about a game three decades ago, the 60-year-old coach tries his best to be thorough.

Now in his sixth season at Michigan, Beilein is in his first Final Four. His path to this point has been methodical, including stints at Erie Community College, Nazareth, LeMoyne, Canisius, Richmond and West Virginia.

In 2012, Michigan tied for its first Big Ten title since 1986. This year, the Wolverines were ranked No. 1 in the country at one point, and now they're in the Final Four and Beilein has a chance to complete a big task — winning a national championship.
