The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Jussi Jokinen from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a conditional sixth or seventh round draft pick in 2013.

Jokinen tallied six goals and five assists in 33 games for the Hurricanes this season.

The 30-year-old was originally acquired by Carolina from Tampa Bay on Feb. 7, 2009. After registering 30 goals and 65 points in 2009-10, the Finn totaled 31 goals and 67 assists over the next two seasons.

Overall, Jokinen totaled 68 goals and 117 assists in 288 games with the Hurricanes.

Jokinen has 121 goals and 225 assists in 569 career games with Dallas, Tampa Bay and Carolina.

"We thank Jussi for his great service to our organization during the last five years," said Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford. "This deal is important for our team's financial flexibility moving forward."
