Alessandro Matri scored at the hour mark to see Juventus continue its strong run of form with a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro on Saturday.

The wins sees the Bianconeri, who are unbeaten in their last five Serie A matches, improve to 68 points on the season. The club stays nine points clear of Napoli after its 5-3 win over Torino.

Inter has lost two in a row to remain in sixth place in Italy's top flight with 47 points.

The visitors opened the scoring in the third minute through Fabio Quagliarella, who nabbed his eighth league goal of the season.

Rodrigo Palacio leveled the score for Inter in the 54th minute with his team- leading 10th goal of the campaign, but Matri struck in the 60th minute to restore Juve's lead.

Inter was left no way back after Esteban Cambiasso was issued a red card in stoppage time for a nasty challenge, leaving his side to close out the match with 10 men.

AC Milan 1, Chievo 0

Verona, Italy - AC Milan earned a 1-0 win over Chievo at the Stadio M.A. Bentegodi on Saturday to keep the pressure on second-place Napoli.

Riccardo Montolivo produced the lone goal of the affair, slamming home a rebound from a Mario Balotelli free kick in the 25th minute. Chievo had Dario Dainelli sent off in the 78th minute to effectively see Milan claim all three points.

Milan remains third in the table by improving to 57 points while Chievo's 35 points leave the club nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Napoli 5, Torino 3

Turin, Italy - Napoli's second-place position looked to be under serious threat, but the club stormed back to retain the spot with a 5-3 win over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino on Saturday.

Blerim Dzemaili opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but Paulo Vito Barreto leveled the score for Torino at the half-hour mark. Dzemaili restored Napoli's one-goal edge two minutes into the second half, but Torino took the lead thanks to goals from Jonathas and Riccardo Meggiorini.

It looked as if Napoli would falter, but three goals in the final 10 minutes helped the club come away with all three points. Dzemaili completed his hat trick while Edinson Cavani added a late brace to lift the club to 59 points.

Torino remains on 35 points for the season, dropping its 10th match of the campaign.

Lazio 2, Catania 1

Rome, Italy - Lazio left it late against Catania at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, getting two goals in the final 11 minutes to claim a 2-1 win.

Mariano Izco had put the visitors in front five minutes after halftime, but Lazio ultimately took all three points behind Nicola Legrottaglie's own goal in the 79th minute and Antonio Candreva's penalty two minutes later.

Lazio snaps a three-game losing skid to climb to 50 points on the season while Catania remains on 45 points after losing three of its last four.

Parma 3, Pescara 0

Parma, Italy - Parma piled more misery on Pescara by cruising to a 3-0 victory at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday.

Yohan Benalouane opened the scoring in the 18th minute while Gabriel Paletta and Amauri extended the lead in the 52nd and 65th minutes, respectively, to extend Pescara's losing streak to six games and its winless run to 11 games.

Parma has managed 38 points through its 30 games this term while Pescara stays at the foot of the Serie A table with 21 points.

Genoa 2, Siena 2

Genoa, Italy - Genoa and Siena played to a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Saturday, a result that does not do either side any favors in their battles to avoid relegation.

Marco Borriello's early strike was overturned by Innocent Emeghara and a penalty kick from Alessandro Rosina, but Bosko Jankovic struck in the 71st minute to see the two sides split the points.

The draw sees Genoa, on 27 points, remain one point above Siena and the final relegation spot.

Palermo 2, Roma 0

Palermo, Italy - Palermo earned an impressive result over Roma on Saturday, claiming a 2-0 victory at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Both goals came in the first half as Josip Ilicic and Fabrizio Miccoli scored to lift Palermo to 24 points.

Roma remains on 47 points, dropping to seventh place.

Cagliari 2, Fiorentina 1

Turin, Italy - Mauricio Ferreira Pinilla bagged a brace to see Cagliari claim a 2-1 win over Fiorentina at the Stadio Sant'Elia on Saturday.

Pinilla got the home side off the mark in the 11 minute before doubled the lead in the 39th minute from the penalty spot. Juan Guillermo Cuadrado pulled one back for Fiorentina in the 73rd minute, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal.

Cagliari's 38 points this term leave the club in 11th place in Italy's top flight. Fiorentina remains in third place with 51 points.

Atalanta 0, Sampdoria 0

Bergamo, Italy - There was nothing between Atalanta and Sampdoria at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia on Saturday as the two sides split the points in a 0-0 draw.

Atalanta had Stefano Lucchini sent off in the 80th minute, but Sampdoria was unable to take advantage of the extra man.

Sampdoria climbs to 36 points on the season, two points better than Atalanta.

Udinese 0, Bologna 0

Udine, Italy - Udinese and Bologna played to a 0-0 stalemate at the Stadio Friuli on Saturday.

Antonio Di Natale had the best chance of the match, but the striker failed to convert a penalty kick in the 66th minute.

The two sides remain separated by six points in the Serie A table.
