Edinson Volquez was wild in his warmup to start the Padres' opener, walking six as the Cincinnati Reds beat San Diego 7-3 Wednesday.

Volquez is set to pitch Monday against the Mets in New York. He was pulled after his sixth walk with no outs in the sixth inning, and gave up one run and two hits.

Shin-Soo Choo's second home run of the spring was the first hit allowed by Volquez.

Ryan Ludwick hit his first homer this spring, a three-run drive for the Reds. Joey Votto added his fourth home run.

Mike Leake pitched six strong innings for Reds, giving up one run and five hits. He struck out four and walked none.
