The Carolina Hurricanes made several roster moves on Monday, chief among them the activation of defenseman Joe Corvo from injured reserve.

Corvo has been out since March 16 with a lower-body injury, totaling four goals and 11 points in 23 games before the setback.

Goaltender Dan Ellis and defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti were placed on IR, while netminder John Muse was recalled on an emergency basis from Charlotte of the American Hockey League.

Ellis is unable to play due to a lower-body injury suffered during Thursday's loss to the Devils, while Sanguinetti suffered a facial cut by a skate in a game last week against the Panthers.

For Muse, it is his first NHL call-up. The 24-year-old Cape Cod native guided the Florida Everblades to an ECHL championship last season, and went 6-6-0 with a 3.48 goals-against in 13 games with the Checkers this year after being recalled from Florida.
