The Minnesota Twins announced on Friday that pitchers Scott Diamond and Anthony Swarzak have been placed on the 15-day disabled list.

The news comes just over one week before Opening Day, as both pitchers aren't expected to be ready for the start of the season.

The left-handed Diamond had a bone chip removed from his elbow in December and appeared in his first spring training action on Tuesday, lasting two scoreless innings in a contest versus Triple-A Pawtucket.

Swarzak, 27, threw a live bullpen session on Friday, his second this spring, but is expected to appear in a minor league contest sometime next week. The team said there is no official timetable for the right-handed reliever.
