Younger head coaches seem to be getting more opportunities these days in the world of college football.
As spring practice begins around the country this month, six 30-something coaches are getting their first crack at running a program. Another is already on head coaching job No. 2 at the age of 36.
Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury was 33 when he was hired by his alma mater in December. He says if you're great at your job, it's only fair that you move up quickly.
Other factors also are coming into play. For instance, with more games on TV and more access to highlights, good, young assistants are getting more exposure.
