Toronto FC forward Robert Earnshaw was voted Major League Soccer's Player of the Week on Monday for Week Two of the 2013 MLS season.

The Welsh international scored a first-half brace for his club on Saturday in a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City, lifting Toronto to their first win of the 2013 season.

His first tally came in the third minute of play when the former Tottenham man intercepted a back pass at the top of the penalty area and slotted it home from 12 yards out for his first MLS goal.

Earnshaw struck again from the penalty spot in the 20th minute after TFC midfielder John Bostock was taken down inside the area, leading to the spot kick.

The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week by the North American Soccer Reporters. The group consists of members of online, print, television, and radio media.
