Frank Kramer became the new manager of Greuther Furth on Monday after signing a contract with the club that runs until 2015.

The 40-year-old Kramer replaces Mike Bueskens, who was fired last month despite leading Furth into the Bundesliga for the first time in the club's history.

Ludwig Preis has been serving as the interim manager since the departure Bueskens.

Kramer has managed Furth's reserve teams in the past but he faces a massive task in attempting to keep the club in the top flight.

The team has won just two of its 25 league matches this season and sits on the bottom of the table, seven points back of Augsburg for a place in the relegation playoff.

Furth has also become the first team in Bundesliga history to fail to win any of its first 13 games at home.
