The Dallas Cowboys have released linebacker Dan Connor and restructured the contracts of three more players, moves expected to get the team under the salary cap.

Dallas had already redone the contracts of four other players before adding guard Mackenzy Bernadeau, defensive tackle Jay Ratliff and cornerback Orlando Scandrick to the list Monday. Teams have to be under the NFL salary cap of $123 million by Tuesday, when free agency starts.

Connor was one of seven free agents Dallas added in free agency last offseason. He got a two-year contract and started eight games after Sean Lee and Bruce Carter were injured.

The Cowboys previously restructured deals with DeMarcus Ware, Jason Witten, Miles Austin and cornerback Brandon Carr, who got a $50 million, five-year free-agent deal from Dallas last March.
