ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Andrew Lawrence scored 19 points and Willis Hall added a double-double as the third-seeded College of Charleston defeated No. 2 seed Elon 68-60 in the Southern Conference semifinals Sunday night.
Hall had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (24-9), who will face top-seeded Davidson in the championship game Monday at 7 p.m.
Lucas Troutman paced the Phoenix (21-11) with 23 points, while Josh Bonney added 15 off the bench.
Charleston opened with an 11-0 run and added an 8-0 stretch later in the half to lead 25-19 at the intermission.
Elon's Kevin Blake hit a foul shot to pull the Phoenix within 60-56 with 28 seconds remaining, but the Cougars hit 8 of 8 foul shots after to stymie the comeback.
