The Philadelphia Eagles have signed quarterback G.J. Kinne to a two-year contract.

Kinne played three seasons at Tulsa and signed as a rookie free agent with the New York Jets last year before being released in June. He played briefly in the UFL and Arena Football league.

Kinne finished his career at Tulsa ranked second in school history in passing yards (9,472), total offense (10,831 yards) and passing touchdowns (81).

He was coached by Eagles offensive quality control coach Press Taylor. Kinne is the second quarterback signed by Philadelphia this offseason. The team also signed Dennis Dixon off Baltimore's practice squad.

Michael Vick, who restructured his contract, is expected to compete with Nick Foles for the starting job.
