Top-seeded and reigning Acapulco champion Sara Errani of Italy defeated second-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4, to earn her second straight title at the Mexican Open tennis event.

Errani, the 2012 French Open finalist and last week's runner-up in Dubai, took advantage of four double faults from Navarro, as she disposed of the second- seeded Spaniard in 1 hour, 35 minutes on the red clay at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess.

Errani earned her first title of the year and seventh of her career in her third championship appearance this season, while Navarro remains in search of her first ever WTA title and was in the finals for the first time this year.

The world No. 8 Italian improved to 5-3 all-time against Navarro, who took home $20,000 for her second-place finish.

Errani, who bested Flavia Pennetta in last year's all-Italian final here, earned $40,000 for the victory.
