Kevin Aronis scored 11 points and Bandja Sy had 10 to lead a balanced effort for New Mexico State in a 55-51 victory over UTEP on Saturday night in a BracketBusters game.

Aronis connected on 3 of 5 shots from 3-point range.

New Mexico State (19-9) also got nine rebounds and three blocked shots from Sim Bhullar and eight rebounds apiece from Renaldo Dixon and Daniel Mullings.

McKenzie Moore led UTEP (14-12) with 10 points.

Each half was a complete opposite from the other. New Mexico State shot 22.7 percent from the floor in the first half and 52 percent in the second. UTEP shot 25 percent in the first half and 63.6 percent in the second.

The lead changed hands 12 times.
