Palermo's string of draws continued on Saturday as the club was held to a 0-0 stalemate by Genoa at the Renzo Barbera.

Palermo boss Alberto Malesani has his side picking up points, but he is still finding a win elusive as the club has drawn five of its last six games and remains on the bottom of Serie A, six points from safety.

Genoa, meanwhile, extends its unbeaten streak to five games and is five points above the bottom three.

The visitors had the better of the chances, but Palermo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino kept his team in the game before his opposite number, Sebastien Frey, denied a close-range shot from Palermo's Mauro Boselli.

But just as the home side was getting into the game and beginning to create chances, Salvatore Aronica picked up a second yellow card, leaving Palermo to see off the final 15 minutes with 10 men.
