PSV Eindhoven went six points clear at the top of the Eredivisie table on Saturday, coming from behind in a 2-1 defeat of Utrecht at the Philips Stadion.

Jacob Mulenga got visiting Utrecht off to a flying start when he opened the scoring in the 10th minute.

But the lead did not last for long as Dries Mertens equalized for PSV just before the half-hour mark.

The two sides remained tied at a goal apiece until the 65th minute when Georginio Wijnaldum put the home team in front with his team-leading 13th goal of the season.

Atiba Hutchinson was sent off five minutes later, but PSV was able to hold on for the win to move to 50 points on the season.

Ajax will have the chance to move back within three points of first place on Sunday when it heads to the Mandemakers Stadion to take on RKC Waalwijk.

Utrecht has lost two straight to remain on 39 points.

Elsewhere in the Eredivisie on Saturday, Roda played to a 2-2 draw with AZ Alkmaar, Rick ten Voorde equalized in the 56th minute of NAC's 1-1 draw with Heracles and Ricardo Ippel scored at the death in Willem II's 1-1 draw at Twente.
