Barca's Villa released from hospital

Barcelona, Spain – Barcelona striker David Villa has been released from the hospital, it was announced Tuesday.

The 31-year-old had been admitted yesterday to undergo treatment on kidney stones and has now been released. It is unknown whether the Spain international will play a role in the club's La Liga match against Granada on Saturday.

"Villa has undergone the appropriate treatment to remove the kidney stones and has already been discharged from hospital," read a statement on Barcelona's website. "Villa will be reincorporated into training from this Wednesday and his recovery will decide his availability for the next match."
