Freiburg, Germany – Pavel Krmas helped Freiburg climb to fifth in the Bundesliga on Sunday as his goal in the 87th minute was the difference in Freiburg's 1-0 victory over Dusseldorf.
The win moves the home side to within six points of a place in the top four, while Dusseldorf is eight points clear of 16th-place Hoffenheim.
Freiburg created the better chances and almost went ahead in the 17th minute when Max Kruse saw his shot come back off the right post.
Dusseldorf didn't pose a serious threat going forward and Kruse was involved in the only goal of the game in the 87th minute when he swung a corner kick into the area that Krmas got up to head home.
Kruse was still bidding for his first goal of the contest in stoppage time, but once more he was denied by the post as he looked to put the result out of reach.
Augsburg 1, Mainz 1
Augsburg, Germany - Augsburg collected another point in its bid for survival on Sunday as Sascha Molders scored a second-half equalizer to help the team to a 1-1 home draw with Mainz.
Augsburg still resides in 17th place, but with four draws and a win from its last five contests, appears to be up for a fight to avoid relegation.
Mainz took the lead in the 43rd minute when Junior Diaz did well to deliver a cross from the left that Adam Szalai finished off at close range.
But the visitors were reduced to 10 men in first-half stoppage time when Shawn Parker was sent off for a poor challenge on Augsburg's Michael Parkhurst.
The home side then equalized in the 57th minute as Molders scored on a header from Marcel De Jong's cross, but they were unable to push forward and claim all three vital points.
