Central Florida has signed a recruiting class of 19 players as it prepares for its first season in the Big East Conference.

Despite having limited recruiting visits because of NCAA penalties for recruiting violations, the Knights' 2013 class includes 11 defensive players and 14 players from the state of Florida.

It also has three January enrollees, including quarterbacks Pete DiNovo and Justin Holman.

The Knights lost 20 seniors from their 2012 team that finished 10-4 and won the Beef O'Brady Bowl. Among the graduates were both their leading rusher and top tackler.

This year's class has several guys with lots of potential, though. That list includes 6-foot, 210-pound Uniondale (N.Y.) High School running back William Stanback, who O'Leary said is capable of playing on either side of the ball.
