The Denver Nuggets have been rolling since the calendar flipped to 2013 and shoot for a seventh straight win Tuesday versus the Milwaukee Bucks in the continuation of a six-game homestand at the Pepsi Center.
The Pepsi Center has been a house of horrors lately for visiting teams as the Nuggets are unbeaten in the last five games there and 20-3 overall this season. The rested Nuggets are 4-0 so far on the homestand and recorded a 113-98 victory over the New Orleans Hornets Friday.
Andre Iguodala had 24 points and Ty Lawson chipped in 21 and 13 assists for the Nuggets, who are 12-2 in their last 14 games overall. Denver improved to 10-4 when two or more players score 20-plus points and has prevailed in each of the last eight times that occurs.
Denver had 32 fastbreak points thanks to 22 forced turnovers.
"I think any time you can get to turning them over, that creates a mental frustration and a mental fatigue," said Nuggets coach George Karl, who on Friday was named Western Conference Coach of the Month for January. "The points off of turnovers gave us the confidence to win the game."
The Nuggets have scored 100-plus points in seven straight contests and are 19-3 when holding the opposition below the century mark in scoring. They will close the homestand Thursday versus the Chicago Bulls and haven't won seven in a row since Nov. 20-Dec. 5, 2010.
In injury news for the Nuggets, who are one of the league leaders in points scored with 104.02, center JaVale McGee (left leg) is questionable for Tuesday and has missed the past three games.
Milwaukee will play two straight out west against the Nuggets and Utah Jazz, and is 12-11 outside Brew City.
The Bucks ended a two-game slide and won for the sixth time in nine tries by posting a 107-98 home victory over the Orlando Magic Saturday. Monta Ellis finished with 21 points and 11 assists, while Brandon Jennings netted 20 points and Larry Sanders ended with 17, 13 rebounds and six blocks.
"We just closed the game out, we made shots when we needed to make them," said Ellis. "We knew what we had to do, we needed this win and we just buckled down and made shots."
Sanders has recorded at least one block in 32 consecutive games and leads the NBA with 3.11 blocks per game.
Milwaukee and Denver will play the first of two matchups this season on Tuesday and are scheduled to meet again April 15 at the Bradley Center. The Nuggets took both meetings a season ago and have won four straight and 14 of the last 19 in this series.
The Bucks have lost 17 of the last 21 trips to the Rocky Mountains.
