DeMarcus Gatlin had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Sam Houston State rallied from an eight-point deficit in the final six minutes to defeat Texas A&M Corpus Christi 55-51 Saturday.

Gatlin's three-point play with 57 seconds left put the Bearkats (12-9, 5-4 Southland) ahead 51-50 and Darius Gatson hit four straight free throws in the final minute to seal it.

Johnathan Jordan had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Corpus Christi (2-17, 1-8).

Gatlin scored the first seven points of the second half to help Sam Houston State pull within 28-27. The game was tied 31-31 when Corpus Christi pulled back ahead, taking a 44-36 lead on Jordan's 3-pointer with 5:59 remaining.

The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Bearkats and gave them a season sweep of the Islanders. In the previous meeting, Sam Houston State also rallied with a late 10-2 run to win 61-57.
