Christian Standhardinger scored 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Hawaii over UC Riverside 72-68 on Thursday night.

Brandon Spearman had 15 points, Vander Joaquim chipped in with 10 and the Rainbow Warriors shot 49 percent from the field, making 28 of 57 attempts.

Tied at 67, Joaquim hit a pair of free throws to put Hawaii (12-9, 6-4 Big West) up 69-67 with 2:32 remaining in the game. Isaac Fotu hit a jumper to make it 71-67 and Standhardinger hit a free throw with 6 seconds left to seal the deal.

The Highlanders stayed close by hitting 10 3-pointers in the game, dishing out 21 assists and shooting 50 percent from the field.

Chris Patton led UC Riverside (5-16, 2-7) with 13 points, Austin Quick added 12 and Josh Fox chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.
