World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will play in Friday's second opening singles rubber in a first-round Davis Cup tie between Serbia and host Belgium.

The best-of-five affair will be played on indoor red clay at Spiroudome de Charleroi.

First up on Friday will be a match between Serbian Viktor Troicki and David Goffin, followed by a rubber between the Australian Open champion Djokovic and Belgian veteran Olivier Rochus.

Saturday's doubles have a Serbian tandem of Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic taking on a Belgian duo of Ruben Bemelmans and Steve Darcis, while Sunday's reverse singles will pit Djokovic against the rising Goffin and Troicki versus Rochus.

The high-flying 25-year-old Djokovic is 19-7 in his career Davis Cup singles and led the Serbs to their lone title three years ago.

World No. 9 Janko Tipsarevic will not play for Serbia due to a left foot injury.

The Serbs are captained by Bogdan Obradovic, while the Belgians are led by Johan van Herck.

Belgium is 1-0 against Serbia, with the meeting coming back in 2005.

The Serbia-Belgium winner will face the United States-Brazil victor in April's quarterfinals.
