Bordeaux moved into fourth place on Saturday after securing a 2-0 home win against Valenciennes with goals from David Bellion and Ludovic Obraniak.

Bordeaux has lost just once in nine games to continue its climb up the table, while Valenciennes is winless in four matches and falls further off the pace in the race for a European spot.

The opening goal arrived in the 33rd minute from a corner kick as Obraniak's cross was headed on target by Carlos Henrique, who saw his effort stopped, only for Bellion to score on the rebound.

The home side was more threatening, but it wasn't until the 72nd minute that the lead was doubled with Obraniak scoring from close range after a nice set up from Benoit Tremoulinas.

Rennes slipped to seventh place on Saturday after a 2-2 draw at Lorient, but the visitors were fortunate to claim a point as Axel N'Gando scored in the 90th minute after Lorient had taken the lead 10 minutes prior through Jeremie Aliadiere.

Evian and Bastia played out a 0-0 draw in a match between bottom-half sides, while Nice moved up to fifth place after a 2-0 triumph at Brest as Nemanja Pejcinovic scored in the first half before a second-half own goal from Brest's Brahim Ferradj sealed the defeat.

Divock Origi tallied a goal 15 minutes from time for Lille to help his team to a 1-1 draw against second-from-the-bottom Troyes and St Etienne slipped past Sochaux, 2-1, with Fabian Lemoine scoring the winning goal in the 77th minute after Edouard Butin equalized in the 72nd for Sochaux.
