Boston, MA – Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo was a late scratch from Sunday's game against Miami because of a right knee injury.
Rondo was hurt late in Boston's double-overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and was declared inactive shortly before Sunday's showdown with the Heat.
The team is calling it a hyperextension of the right knee and has sent Rondo to a Boston hospital for tests, including an MRI exam.
In 38 contests this season, the All-Star is averaging 13.7 points and an NBA- best 11.1 assists.
