The New York Mets have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with free-agent pitcher Shaun Marcum.

According to MLB.com and CBSSports.com, the deal is still pending a physical.

Marcum spent the past two seasons with Milwaukee and was 7-4 with a 3.70 ERA in 21 starts last year, as he suffered from a lingering elbow issue. In 2011, he was 13-7 with a 3.54 ERA.

The 31-year-old right-hander joined the Brewers after five seasons in Toronto and owns a career mark of 57-36 with a 3.76 ERA in 174 games, including 149 starts. He missed the entire 2009 campaign recovering from Tommy John surgery.
