Ty Armstrong scored 18 points to lead six East Carolina players in double figures in a 91-85 victory over Alabama-Birmingham in a Conference USA game Wednesday night.

Armstrong also had 10 rebounds for the Pirates (12-6, 3-2), who had lost their last five road games.

Maurice Kemp scored 17 points, Paris Campbell had 16, Miguel Paul and Akeem Richmond 12 each, and Robert Sampson 10. Those five all scored during a 12-2 run midway through the second half that gave East Carolina a 63-56 lead.
