Monique Reid made a fast-break layup with 7 seconds left to hold off a furious Marquette rally and give No. 13 Louisville a 64-63 victory Tuesday night.

Katie Young's 3-pointer with 13 seconds to play had capped an 8-0 run and given Marquette a 63-62 lead. Young, who had 17 points, including four 3s, and 10 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (10-8, 2-3 Big East), missed a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Shoni Schimmel had 19 points for the Cardinals (16-4, 4-2), who won despite shooting 37 percent from the field and going 9 of 18 from the free-throw line. Antonita Slaughter added 14, and Sara Hammond had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Katherine Plouffe scored 17 and Brooklyn Pumroy chipped in 16 for Marquette, which trailed by as many as 10 in the second half before rallying late. The Golden Eagles shot 47 percent but committed 25 turnovers.
