Celtic cruised past Dundee United at Celtic Park on Tuesday, scoring twice on opposite sides of halftime in a 4-0 victory.

Gary Hooper put the Hoops in front with the opening goal after just 19 minutes, slotting home a feed from Georgios Samaras from close range.

Victor Wanyama made it two for the home side when he nodded home Mikael Lustig's delivery in the 32nd minute.

Hooper grabbed his second of the match with a neat finish in the 79th minute, flicking a low cross past Radoslaw Cierzniak from a tough angle.

Scott Brown added insult to injury by extending Celtic's lead four minutes later to complete the rout.

The win sees Celtic increase its lead atop the Scottish Premier League to 12 points, winning its third straight league match to improve to 49 points through 23 games.

Dundee United stays put in seventh on 29 points.
