PSV Eindhoven opened the door for Twente to climb to the top of the Eredivisie table on Friday, falling at the Philips Stadion in a 3-1 loss to Zwolle.

Fred Benson produced a brace in the affair, opening the scoring in the 25th minute before Tim Matavz pulled PSV level in the 42nd minute.

Zwolle jumped out to another lead nine minutes into the second half when Benson struck again.

PSV's deficit was extended in the 63rd when Wiljan Pluim netted Zwolle's third of the match, and the home side was left no way back when Erik Pieters was sent off in the 67th minute.

The loss sees PSV remain tied with Twente at the Eredivisie summit on 40 points apiece. Twente can go three points clear at the top with a victory over RKC Waalwijk on Saturday.

Zwolle improves to 18 points to pull further away from the relegation zone.
