Stuttgart defender Georg Niedermeier signed a contract extension on Wednesday that ties him to the club until 2016.
Niedermeier's previous deal still had 18 months to go, but the club has decided to extend that by two years, tying down a key member of the team's back line.
The 26-year-old signed with Stuttgart from Bayern Munich in 2009 and he has appeared in 14 of Stuttgart's 17 Bundesliga matches this season.
"I have established myself in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart and the club has a place in my heart," Niedermeier told the club's website. "I would like to grow even more as a leading player and play in Europe with this club. I will continue to give all I have got to achieve that in the coming years."
