Grizzlies seek to extend series win streak over Warriors

The Memphis Grizzlies have owned the Golden State Warriors the past few years and look to keep the momentum going when the two clubs collide Wednesday night at Oracle Arena.

Memphis has won seven in a row and 12 of the last 15 meetings with Golden State, including a 104-94 victory in Oakland on Nov. 2 this season. Mike Conley had 22 points and Marc Gasol added 21 in that one for the Grizzlies, winners in three straight as the visitor in this series.

The Grizzlies will close out a three-game road trip tonight and have won two straight and eight of 12 games. They are coming off Monday's 113-81 victory at Sacramento, which was highlighted by Wayne Ellington's career-best 26 points. Zach Randolph added 17 points and seven rebounds for Memphis.

"I was feeling it early," said Ellington, who scored 19 points in the second half. "My teammates were doing a good job finding me and I was just letting it fly."

Memphis outscored the Kings, 62-36, in the second half and further cemented its status as a tough defensive team. The Grizz are yielding an NBA-low 89.1 points per game and are 10-0 when scoring 100-plus points. They are 9-6 outside of FedEx Forum this season.

The Grizzlies will return home to host San Antonio on Friday.

Golden State will try to get back on track after having a four-game winning streak cut short the last time out in a 115-89 loss at the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

Klay Thompson had 14 points and both David Lee and Stephen Curry ended with 10 for the Warriors. The Warriors shot 44.4 percent for the game and made 5-of-20 3-pointers. A 36-23 difference in the third quarter put the Warriors behind the eight ball.

"We didn't play well, they were a step faster and played with an edge. They had us on our heels, they played like they wanted to send a message. We did not respond, we'll soak it in and remember it," Warriors head coach Mark Jackson said.

Golden State has won three in a row at home and is 11-4 as the host this season. It will also welcome Portland to oracle Arena on this quick homestand and is a solid 9-1 in games following a loss.

The Warriors have yet to lose back-to-back games this season in regulation.
