The Los Angeles Galaxy announced on Monday that the club has signed goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini on a free transfer from Tottenham.

The 39-year-old has spent more than a decade in the Premier League with Chelsea and Tottenham, while he also has experience playing in Serie A with AC Milan and Lazio.

"We are delighted to be able to add Carlo Cudicini to our roster," Galaxy head coach and general manager Bruce Arena said. "Carlo is an experienced and accomplished goalkeeper who we believe will be a great addition to our team and our defensive unit."

Cudicini made 216 appearances during his time with Chelsea, helping the club win two Premier League titles, two FA Cups and a pair of League Cups.

After joining Tottenham in January 2009, Cudicini served primarily as a backup and appeared in five of Tottenham's Europa League games as well as six FA Cup matches for Spurs last season.
