Everton will be without midfielder Darron Gibson for the next month after manager David Moyes confirmed that he is suffering from a thigh strain.

Gibson was forced to miss Everton's 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Sunday because of the problem, and the 25-year-old is likely to be out until the end of January.

The former Manchester United man has been limited to nine league starts this season after missing two months because of a similar problem earlier in the campaign.

Gibson's injury adds to a growing list for Moyes, who is already without Kevin Mirallas (hamstring), Tony Hibbert (calf) and Seamus Coleman (hamstring).
