Brandon Roy is considering retirement again after being unable to shake the knee issues that have plagued him in recent years.

A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that the Minnesota Timberwolves guard is weighing retirement against one last search for a treatment or procedure that could alleviate the chronic pain in his knees. The person requested anonymity because a final decision has yet to be made.

Roy had another surgery last month and returned to practice for the first time on Thursday. He expressed hope about playing against Phoenix on Saturday, but was unable to practice Friday and wasn't present for the morning shootaround prior to the game against the Suns.

Roy has gone back and forth about retiring over the last two days.
