Connecticut has called a news conference to announce a new contract for men's basketball coach Kevin Ollie.

A person in the athletic department says the final details were still being worked out Saturday afternoon and the contract had not been signed. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak before a 5 p.m. news conference.

The news conference with Ollie and athletic director Warde Manuel will be held before the Huskies play Washington.

Ollie was given just a one-season deal in September after Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun retired. He has led UConn to a 9-2 record despite losing five underclassmen from last year's team after it was announced that the Huskies were academically ineligible for the upcoming postseason.
