Struggling Nets try to rebound against Bucks

It's been almost four years since the Milwaukee Bucks have tasted defeat at the hands of the Nets and the two teams collide Wednesday night at the Bradley Center.

Milwaukee has won 12 in a row and 14 of the past 20 matchups with the Nets, who moved to Brooklyn from Newark, New Jersey in the offseason. The Bucks, whose last loss in this series occurred on March 3, 2009, are unbeaten in the previous five meetings as the host.

The Bucks haven't been so consistent against the other teams in the league, alternating wins and losses six straight times. They suffered a 94-82 loss versus the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday in the opener of a three-game homestand. Monta Ellis scored a game-high 37 points for the Bucks, who fell to 7-6 at home and had no other player in double-digit scoring.

Marquis Daniels had nine points and Brandon Jennings was held to seven.

"They built the early lead. They sustained it the whole game," Ellis said.

Milwaukee made 39.2 percent for the game and hit only 4-of-20 3-pointers.

In injury news for the Bucks, forward Tobias Harris (elbow) and guard Beno Udrih (ankle) are both listed as questionable Wednesday. The Bucks, who have been held under 100 points in eight straight games, are scheduled to close out the homestand Saturday versus LeBron James and the Miami Heat.

Brooklyn won't have much time to dwell on a 93-76 loss to the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day. Gerald Wallace and Brook Lopez had 15 points apiece in the loss, the Nets' ninth in the past 12 tries.

Joe Johnson and Deron Williams scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Nets, who made 40.6 percent of their shots, but knocked down only 7-of-20 3- pointers.

"This one hurts. We didn't play our game. They beat us from the opening tip," Wallace said. "We didn't make shots. We turned the ball over too easy. Our defense just wasn't there tonight. We were not ourselves tonight."

The Nets aim to stop a two-game road skid Wednesday and own a 5-6 record as the guest this season. Nets forward Kris Humphries missed Tuesday's game with a strained abdominal and may not play against the Bucks.

Brooklyn recently suffered a 97-88 home loss to Milwaukee on Dec. 9. Jennings scored a game-high 26 points in that one, while Wallace posted a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds.
