Andre Stringer scored 19 points and LSU held on to beat UC Irvine 66-60 Tuesday night.

Shavon Coleman had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Anthony Hickey scored 10 points for the Tigers (7-1), who were coming off their only loss of the season Friday night at Boise State.

Adam Folker was the only Anteater in double figures with 13 points. UC Irvine (5-7) stayed close but never came within four points in the second half until the final minute.

Both teams shot 37 percent from the field. UC Irvine had 50 rebounds, led by Michael Wilder with 11, while LSU had 43. Johnny O'Bryant III had 13 rebounds for the Tigers.

LSU was the first Southeastern Conference team to play at Irvine since South Carolina in 2006. The Anteaters won that game 67-52.
