The University of New Hampshire football team will play five home games as part of an 11-game schedule announced Wednesday.

The Wildcats will open their season on Sept. 7 at Central Michigan from the Mid-American Conference, then follow with two more non-conference games against the last two Patriot League champions, Sept. 14 in their home opener against Colgate and Sept. 21 at Lehigh.

UNH also will play four CAA Football games at Cowell Stadium against Rhode Island (Oct. 12, Homecoming), Villanova (Oct. 19), James Madison (Nov. 9) and Maine (Nov. 23).

The Wildcats' road conference games are at Towson (Oct. 5), Stony Brook (Oct. 26), William & Mary (Nov. 2) and Albany (Nov. 16).

"Our players are looking forward to another challenging season against some of the best competition in the nation," UNH coach Sean McDonnell said. "We're starting off against a bowl team in Central Michigan and taking on Patriot League powers Colgate and Lehigh, so it will be a very tough non-league schedule leading into the weekly battles of the CAA."

The Wildcats compiled an 8-4 record this season, tieing for the CAA title and extending their streak of FCS playoff appearance to nine - the longest current run in the nation.
