The Chicago Fire made forward Maicon Santos the lone selection in stage one of the MLS Re-Entry Process on Friday.

The 28-year-old Santos has 21 goals and eight assists in four MLS seasons with Chivas USA, Toronto FC, FC Dallas and D.C. United. He spent last year at D.C., and had seven goals and three assists in 26 appearances.

"We are pleased to add Maicon Santos to our roster ahead of the 2013 season," said Chicago President of Soccer Operations Javier Leon. "Maicon is a talented forward who brings with him a scoring touch and MLS experience."

The Brazilian started his career in Rio de Janeiro for Madureira Esporte Clube in 2004, and has also played in Tunisia, Libya and Israel.
