Manchester City midfielder David Silva has been ruled out of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund and is a doubt for Sunday's top-of-the-table meeting with Manchester United because of a hamstring injury.

Silva did not travel with the team to Germany for the Dortmund match, and manager Roberto Mancini has said that he is unsure that the Spaniard will recover in time to feature in Sunday's derby, with City sitting three points adrift of United.

The 26-year-old has tallied one goal and two assists in 12 Premier League appearances this season.
