Greg Gantt finished with 29 points, and Stefan Moody came off the bench to score 22 as Florida Atlantic beat Arkansas State 72-65 Saturday night in a Sun Belt Conference showdown.

Trailing 32-31 at halftime, FAU (3-4, 1-1) opened the second half on a 19-7 run to take a 50-39 lead. The run was spurred by three 3s, one from Jackson Trapp and two from Gantt.

Arkansas State (4-3, 0-2) fought back taking the lead 57-56 on Brandon Peterson's layup with 6:17 left to play, but Gantt answered, scoring eight straight points for the Owls, giving them the 64-59 advantage with under three minutes to play.

The Red Wolves would get within three, 66-63 with 38 seconds left, but FAU connected on its last eight free throws to seal the victory.

With the win Mike Jarvis passed Sidney Green for the most wins at FAU in the Division I era.
