Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio has now been cleared to participate in full-contact practices, the team announced on Wednesday.

Rubio had surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his left knee, which were torn in the final 16 seconds of a March 9 contest against the Los Angeles Lakers and has been sidelined ever since.

After receiving clearance by the doctor who performed his surgery, Dr. Richard Steadman, Rubio will now be able to practice with the team without any limitations.

Rubio enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign in 2011-12 before going down with the injury, appearing in 42 games and averaged 10.6 points, 8.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals.
