Manchester City coach David Platt has been handed a two-game touchline ban by UEFA after he was dismissed during City's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.

Platt was sent off by referee Gianluca Rocchi for improper conduct during the match, and he will have three days to appeal the ban.

A statement from UEFA read: "The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body has suspended Manchester City FC assistant coach David Platt for the next two UEFA competition matches.

"He will not be able to carry out his function at Tuesday's UEFA Champions League Group D match against Borussia Dortmund in Germany, as well as at the next UEFA competition match for which he will be eligible."

City has also been fined $15,500 for the six yellow cards the team picked up during the draw with Madrid.
