Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Casey Janssen underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder earlier this month to repair lingering AC joint soreness.

The surgery, which was performed on Nov. 16 by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, involved a small portion of the end of the clavicle being shaved down to relieve the discomfort.

Janssen went 1-1 with a 2.54 earned run average in 62 appearances in 2012. Over six big league seasons -- all with the Blue Jays -- the 31-year-old right-hander has appeared in 283 games, including 22 starts, and has gone 22-20 with a 3.60 ERA.
