Gremio will enter the final week of the Brasileiro season in second place after notching a 4-2 win at Figueirense on Sunday.

The visitors jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead with goals from Elano, Ze Roberto and Souza, only for Figueirense to trim the advantage to a goal with 20 minutes to play.

Aloisio's penalty kick got the home side on the scoreboard in the 63rd minute, while Jean Deretti netted a goal to make it 3-2.

However, the comeback was quickly snuffed out as Leandro netted a goal of his own for Gremio, which held Figueirense at a distance over the remainder of the match.

Gremio sits one point clear of Atletico Mineiro, which got a goal from Rever in the 88th minute to claim a 3-2 triumph at Botafogo.

Atletico was down 2-1 and down to 10 men in the 65th minute, but Richarlyson managed to tally the equalizer in the 81st.

Lucas was then sent off for Botafogo in the 87th, allowing Rever to complete the comeback with a goal one minute later.

Champions Fluminense were held to a 1-1 draw at Sport Recife, Sao Paulo and Ponte Preta played to a 0-0 stalemate, Bahia and Nautico finished 1-1, and Cruziero held off Coritiba to win, 2-1.

Goals from Ananias and Marcelo helped Portuguesa top Internacional, 2-0, Goianiense secured a 2-1 win at Palmeiras, Santos and Corinthians played to a 1-1 draw and Marcos Gonzalez scored three minutes from time to help Flamengo to a point in a 1-1 draw with Vasco da Gama.
